Volvo RYA Keelboat Programme - The ultimate aim of the programme is to make Keelboat sailing more accessible to all, not just those who know the right people. To help train and support the future of Britain s Keelboat Sailing who may go onto compete in the Volvo Ocean Race, America s Cup or Vendee Globe in the future.

Volvo RYA Champion Club Programme The Volvo RYA Champion Club recognises those sailing clubs with a commitment to youth sailing and race coaching. It aims to encourage young sailors and windsurfers at the grass roots level, to stay in the sport and learn to compete. Ultimately the goal is to increase Britain s medal wins in international regatta, building on the British Sailing Team s successes. There are currently 143 clubs involved in the programme throughout the UK.

Volvo Musto Optimist Championships

Sailed by 8-15 year olds, the 2.3 metre optimist has proven an excellent starter boat across the globe and has helped groom some of sailings great names including double Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie and Olympic silver medallist Nick Rogers. Volvo sponsors the 3 key Optimist events during the season; the Inland, National and End of Season s Championships; with upto 300 young sailors competing at each event.
