Geography
The Estoril Coast stretches from the Atlantic Ocean and the Tagus river estuary in the south and west and up to the Northern boundary of the parish of Cascais.

The Sintra-Cascais Natural Park is the most westerly point in Europe and contains a tremendous variety of landscapes and atmospheres.

Near Estoril, the majestic Sintra Mountains cast a veil of mystery over the town which nestles on its northern slopes. The hills and the surrounding area have been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site both for their cultural significance and for their outstanding natural beauty.

Weather
The Estoril Coast is widely regarded as the Portuguese Riviera.
It has an exceptionally mild climate with no extreme temperatures. Even in winter time temperatures are mild, seldom dropping below 10 centigrade.


Cascais is an important tourist destination. Its beautiful landscape, and a rich cultural heritage makes Cascais an excellent place to host the most diverse events, offering a calendar with important concerts, exhibitions, congresses and important international sports championships, in high quality facilities, such as the Hippodrome, the Cascais Naval Club or the Palmela Park Auditorium.

Cascais visitors would appreciate a promenade in the historical centre, along the typical and picturesque streets, and enjoy spending the afternoon at the pleasant caf s or riding a bicycle along the cost road.

The Guia-Guincho bicycle lane is a 7 km ride, which provides an unforgettable afternoon in the company of a beautiful blue sea, particularity wild at the Boca do Inferno, and the green protected area of the Sintra and Guincho Natural Park.

The Cascais-Estoril 2.5 km pathway along the coast line, offers a seductive view over the slim sand and the calm sea of our beaches, and is also equipped with a fitness and health course.

The Carcavelos Beach and the Guincho Beach are the perfect spots for extreme sports lovers. With incomparable conditions for windsurf, kitesurf, surf, and bodyboard, the Guincho Beach has unique wave and wind conditions, which makes it an annual fixture in the European Championship and World Championship of surf and windsurf.

The Carcavelos Beach is known for The Youth Beach, famous for surfing due to its enticing waves. It also has a volleyball court, beach football and a skate park.
